In years 1945 - 1953,

the prison of the Provincial Office of Public Security.
In its dungeons, Poles - the victims of Stalinist terror - were tortured and perished.
Honored be their memory!

Did you know, that Vasco da Gama when he landed in India -on 23.9.1498- met a Polish jew from Poznan ?
He adopted this man and gave him the name Gaspar de Gama.
